RACE FORMAT

NON-STOP MIXED TERRAIN ULTRACYCLING EVENT COMPLETELY UNSUPPORTED FOLLOWING A FIXED ROUTE

Ultracycling

A form of long-distance cycling that goes far beyond traditional race formats, typically covering hundreds or thousands of kilometers. It emphasizes endurance, resilience, strategy, sleep management, and mental strength as much as physical performance.

Unsupported

A race format in which riders are fully self-sufficient. No outside assistance is allowed—no team cars, no private support crews, no pre-arranged help. Participants must source food, water, accommodation, and mechanical support independently using only publicly available services

Fixed Route

A predefined and mandatory course that all riders must follow from start to finish. The exact track is provided by the organization, and deviations are not permitted unless required for safety or rerouting. Unlike free-route events, navigation strategy focuses on execution and precision rather than route choice.

Mixed Terrain

The race unfolds across a spectacular mix of terrain — from long, fast stretches of smooth tarmac to rough secondary roads, demanding asphalt climbs, sandy tracks, gravel sectors, and technical off-road descents that test both skill and endurance.

Non-Stop

A continuous race format without stages. The clock never stops, and riders decide when and where to rest. Time management, sleep strategy, and pacing become critical elements of performance.

THE CHALLENGE

Each participant will receive an official Brevet Card.

To remain in the General Classification, riders must collect all four official stamps proving their physical passage through the CPs:

• Start — Jazan
• CP1 — Abha
• CP2 — Al Bahah
• Finish — Jeddah

Cut-off times are absolute:

• Race Start: At the Start Line at the official departure time.

• CP1 — Abha: within 72 hours from the race start.

• CP2 — Al Bahah: within 144 hours from the race start.

• Finish — Jeddah: within 192 hours from the race start.

Those who arrive beyond the cut-offs may still continue their crossing of the Kingdom and reach the shores of the Red Sea.
They will earn the title of Finisher — but their names will disappear from the General Classification.

The road remains open.
The clock does not.

THE RACE OVERVIEW

The Arabia Divide route is more than a course—it’s an expedition across one of the world’s most unexpected cycling destinations.

Over approximately 1,450 kilometres and more than 30,000 metres of climbing, you’ll cross the wild mountains of southwestern Saudi Arabia, linking the regions of Jazan, Aseer, Al Bahah and Makkah.

Every day brings a different landscape, a different challenge and a different reward.

Expect endless mountain passes, steep climbs, fast descents, remote villages, winding canyon roads, dense forests, volcanic plateaus, gravel sectors and rugged off-road tracks. From lush highlands to dramatic escarpments overlooking the Red Sea, the route constantly changes character, demanding adaptability, resilience and determination.

This is not a route designed to be fast—it is designed to be unforgettable.

Every climb earns a breathtaking view. Every descent reveals another hidden valley. Every village tells a different story. Every kilometre reminds you why you chose to be here.

Arabia Divide is a journey through landscapes few cyclists have ever experienced, where the challenge is matched only by the generosity of the people you’ll meet along the way. It is a route that rewards patience, curiosity and perseverance as much as strength.

If you’re looking for an event that pushes your limits while taking you somewhere truly different, Arabia Divide is waiting.
